Prepare your room details, understand inverter terminology and confirm the installation scope before choosing an air conditioner in Bahrain.

Room area is a starting point, not a complete AC sizing calculation. Before ordering an air conditioner in Bahrain, gather the room details and ask for the model and installation to be checked together.

What size air conditioner do I need?

Measure room length, width and ceiling height. Note large windows, direct sun, the floor level, roof exposure, insulation and whether the space opens into other rooms. Include how many people normally use it and any substantial heat-producing equipment.

A floor-area table cannot account for all of these differences. Ask an installer to assess the cooling requirement, especially for a majlis, an open-plan area or a room with a high ceiling. Do not automatically add a fixed amount of tonnage for a sunny window.

Replacing an existing AC

Take a photo of the old unit's model plate and record what is wrong: insufficient cooling, noise, leaks or unreliable operation. Its existing size is useful context, but it is not proof that the original sizing was correct. Ask whether the pipework, drainage, electrical supply and outdoor-unit location are suitable for the replacement.

Inverter and rotary describe different things

Inverter refers to variable-speed control. Rotary describes a compressor design. An air conditioner can use a rotary compressor with inverter control; these are not mutually exclusive alternatives.

Compare the exact models' rated efficiency and operating conditions. Running cost depends on sizing, installation, settings, usage, weather and the applicable electricity tariff. A generic savings percentage is not a prediction for your home.

Split, window or portable?

Begin with what your property can accommodate. A split system needs a suitable indoor and outdoor installation and connecting services. A window unit needs a suitable opening and support. A portable model still needs its specified exhaust and drainage arrangements. For a rented home, confirm permission for any permanent changes.

Ask for the installed scope in writing

Which model and capacity are being supplied?
How much pipework is included, and how are extra lengths charged?
Are brackets, drainage, drilling and electrical work included?
Does the quotation cover removal of the old unit and difficult access?
Who installs it, what commissioning checks are included and when can the work happen?
What does the product warranty cover, and how is installation workmanship handled?

Check the whole purchase

Compare the appliance and installation scope together. A lower appliance price can represent a different package. Ask for an itemised quotation so you can compare equivalent offers.
