A soundbar is the single biggest upgrade to a television. Flat screens have no room for a decent speaker, so even an entry-level bar is a step change on dialogue. If you want the low end for films, choose a bar that ships with a wireless subwoofer rather than adding one later.
For portable Bluetooth speakers, check the IP rating if it is going near a pool or to the beach — IPX7 survives being dropped in water, IPX4 only handles splashes. Battery claims are measured at about half volume, so expect less in practice.
