Place settings, not litres, is the capacity measure. A 12–14 place setting machine suits a family; a slimline 45cm model at 9–10 settings fits a smaller kitchen where the standard 60cm will not.
Noise level in decibels is worth checking in an open-plan kitchen. Anything at 45dB or below is genuinely quiet; above 50dB you will hear it across the room.
Bahrain's hard water makes salt and rinse aid non-optional rather than a nicety. Machines with a water softener built in handle it better, and the difference shows on glassware within a few weeks.
