Choose a television for your seating distance, room lighting and viewing habits. Check dimensions, gaming features and mounting before buying.

Choose a TV for the way you watch. Start with seating distance, room lighting and whether you mainly watch films, sport, everyday programmes or play games.

What size TV should I buy?

Measure from your usual seat to the planned screen position. Then measure the space available on the wall or cabinet. Screen size is measured diagonally; it is not the television's width. Compare the exact model's width, height, depth and stand footprint.

Try marking the proposed screen outline with removable tape, then sit in your normal viewing position. Consider subtitles, shared viewing and your preferred level of immersion. Viewing-distance guidance is a starting point; there is no single screen size everyone will find comfortable.

OLED, QLED or Mini LED?

OLED uses pixels that emit their own light. QLED generally describes an LCD television using quantum-dot technology. Mini LED describes a backlight technology used in some LCD televisions; a model can be both QLED and Mini LED.

Do not choose by the label alone. Compare the exact model's brightness, reflection handling, viewing angles and contrast. Note where windows and lights face the screen. In a showroom, ask to see comparable picture settings and content rather than judging only a vivid demonstration loop.

Watching sport or playing games

For sport, compare motion handling on the actual models. For gaming, check the native refresh rate, supported resolution and refresh combinations, variable refresh rate, input lag information and which inputs support the features you need. A marketing motion number is not necessarily the panel's native refresh rate.

If you want high-refresh console play, check the television, console, game, input and cable together. An HDMI label alone does not confirm every feature.

Apps, sound and connections

Confirm that your preferred streaming apps are available on that model in Bahrain. Count the devices you will connect. If using a soundbar, check its connection requirements and the TV's compatible audio output. Decide whether the existing sound is sufficient before adding equipment.

Wall mounting or a cabinet?

For a cabinet, check its width, depth and supported weight against the TV and stand.
For wall mounting, verify the VESA pattern, bracket weight rating and wall construction with an installer.
Allow access to sockets and inputs and follow ventilation requirements.
Confirm whether a bracket, mounting, cable work and setup are included in the quotation.

Compare like for like

Use the full model code when comparing offers. Check warranty, availability, delivery and installation terms alongside the price. Similar names or screen sizes can refer to different products.
